| traditionally, country week has always been the bummer week for american idol, but this year comes as a surprise. phil stacey started the show out really well with flawless vocals, and great country-style enunciations. looks like the bastard will stay one more week at least, seeing that he's miraculously at the top of the list of dialidol. then it was jordin's turn to shine. everything about her tonight seems to me like a cross between joss stone and katharine mcphee. it gets a bit crazy when the afro girls start singing country. didn't like lakisha's and melinda's performances at all. (of course, melinda got her usual praises since she does sing really well, but it was just too weird for me. she's obviously not suited for country. but why in the world is she ranked at 2-7 on dialidol?!) honestly, i thought sanjaya wasn't as bad as the judges made him out to be. it was a bit too mild, but it's not bad. (this is irrelevant, but am i the only one finding it weird how ryan seacrest is protecting sanjaya? are they sleeping together?) and lastly, we have the funky white dudes. chris did well, but was drowned by the complicated arrangement; i'm really starting to like the texture of blake's voice and how you don't see his teeth when he sings :) Labels: american idol |
