 | gathering inspiration from scissor sisters, freddie mercury, motown, pop and classical, this easily qualifies as my pick for the best western album of the year. if you like genuinely happy music and sad music disguised as happy music, then you would adore this album like i do. it is flooded with theatrical falsetto happyness that successfully perks one up from the lethargy. however, my favourite tracks are the melodic pop ballads infused with classical sensitivities that have indie-standard (awe-inspring) lyrics. (eg. my interpretation) and if you think the music is the only popmusic-inspired aspect of this record, wait till you hear big girl, reminiscent of a modern day fat-bottomed girls by queen. whee! and after all that loving, you feel sad and happy simultaneously for billy brown. oh, don't let the stars get you down. and then it all ends with a happy ending. NO HOPE, NO LOVE, NO GLORY! :) Recommended Tracks: All. Seriously. Labels: music |
