| last night, a john mayer song was butchered. today, antonella murders corrine bailey rae. well, it wasn't that bad considering how bad she had been. haley has a really beautiful voice and she deserves to stay more than sabrina sloan. last week, stephanie edwards imitated beyonce to a degree of greatness. this week was her impression of mary j blige, which fell flat at parts but good nonetheless. who's next on the repertoire? fantasia? lakisha is simply not singing up to the standard she displayed on the night she sang the song that propelled jennifer hudson to greatness. but once a favourite, always a favourite. it's how american idol works. for the first time ever, gina glocksen gets a thumbs up from me. she finally let loose tonight with the evanesence hit. would have been great if she had the vocal power to see it through. and once again, melinda doolittle blows the show away, and paid a tribute to her fellow background singers. with that type of vocal prowess, i don't understand why she has been in the background for all these years. it's funny how she can seem so confident while she's singing and then transform into this shy, timid woman right after she's done performing.
