| since season 4, there's always been a girl with a husky voice who gets through to the finals but gets booted anyway in the early rounds (refer: lindsey cardinale and melissa mcghee). this year, i hope leslie hunt makes it because she has the husky voice and the spunk that the other 2 didn't. and i really liked her rendition of the aretha original. it sounded her own, at least. i really didn't like sabrina sloan. belting belting belting all the way. urgh. the worst performance of the night belongs to antonella barba! she attempted something new with the song, but failed terribly. aerosmith classics normally do not stand for renewing, especially when you can't stay on pitch. nicole tranquillo is a problem. i like her rockstar attitude, which reminds me of ryan starr from season 1. but if she continues to pick such oddball, emo songs i highly doubt she'll make it through. haley scarnato is the katharine mcphee of season 6: pretty face, curvaceous body, beautiful voice. love the song too. oh, katharine performed it in the finals with meatloaf. what a coincidence. i love melinda doolittle! especially loved her audition of for once in my life. i'm rooting for her even though lakisha would probably win. her humility reminds me of vonzell, who still remains my favourite throughout the seasons. swoons. maybe it'll be a melinda v. lakisha showdown. whee! lakisha. will win. i'm getting a headache from all the belting. will someone please just sing the melody?
