 | | this is what you often result with when a rich, white girl goes urban.
it's great that when you expect less, disappointment doesn't present itself as strongly. having heard news of katharine venturing into r&b, i was well prepared for a letdown, and something tremendously different from what we heard from the 'over the rainbow' girl in american idol. i'm glad i was well-readied for an hour of nonchalance.
only 2 tracks showcased the girl's innately awesome pipes with less distracting beats: 'Home' and 'Ordinary World'. everything else was typical gag-inspiring pseudo-r&b, with the exception of 'Open Toes' and 'Dangerous' which were slightly catchier, but nothing as awe-inspiring as the likes of fantasia.
kellie's small town girl was supremely better; she stayed true to her genre and soared.
kat's debut isn't a flop as i make it out to be, but it could definitely be better if she went ahead with a genre she was familiar with. cover photo is awesome though :)
